The United Kingdom is situated just off the coast of Western Europe. London is the world’s largest international financial centre UK is today the fifth largest economy in the world and the second largest in Europe. Many of the world’s leading banks and financial institutions have offices in London, and it is also a hub for international trade and investment.

The social market economy that the United Kingdom (UK) has is quite advanced. By nominal gross domestic product (GDP), purchasing power parity (PPP), and GDP per capita, it is the sixth-largest national economy in the world and accounts for a sizeable percentage of nominal world GDP. The UK accounts for a sizeable part of global GDP in PPP terms.
