• Students are represented by the CDU Student’s Association (CDUSA), and postgraduate students by the CDU Postgraduate Student Association, a member of the Council of Australian Postgraduate Associations.
• 104.1 Territory FM is a community radio station owned by CDU and based at the Casuarina campus. The station is broadcast on 104.1 Darwin and Palmerston and 98.7 Alice Springs and can also be heard in Batchelor, Katherine / Tindal, Tennant Creek, Nhulunbuy and Adelaide River.

Some of the popular subjects offered at CDU are: Social Sciences, Life Sciences, Education, Clinical & Pre-Clinical Health, etc. CDU offers on-campus residential facilities on its 3 campuses, for its students.

Charles Darwin University is a dual-sector university, which means the university offers Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses and higher education undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, covering a wide range of subjects and disciplines.

Enrolments in 2011 totalled 22,111 students, with 13,367 students enrolled in vocational and educational training courses and 8744 enrolled in higher education degrees.

There are three areas of study offered by the university:

    • Katherine Student Accommodation (KSA) and its grounds are available for the guests’ enjoyment, including a recreation room, dining room, sports oval, training and conference facilities and pool. The facilities are available to all residents whether living here on a short or long-term stay or any school groups or conference groups.
  
  
  • Alice Springs accommodation
    • The Alice Springs Student Accommodation (ASSA) provides accommodation for CDU students, students from other universities undertaking placement, CDU staff and visiting guests, and groups. It offer twin share and sole occupancy rooms across two houses, as well as communal kitchen areas, a self-service laundry and access to WiFi via the CDU/Eduroam network.
