56. How to convince student from university to SDS college?

Canada has launched SDS or the Student Direct Stream Program to in India to provide more eligible students with the opportunities to study at the Canadian universities and colleges along with the faster student visa application process. This program acts as a permit facilitation program that offer simpler and faster visa processing with international students. To be eligible for this program, students must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  • Students must have the minimum required IELTS score i.e. 6.0 in each section
  • They must be able to buy Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs) of 10,000 CAD
  • They must show the tuition fees for the first year of their studies
  • They must clear an upfront medical examination

Since the eligibility criteria is quite simpler and no paper-based applications under SDS are accepted, it is much more convenient for students to apply for the same online to get a study permit.
