Q.1. What is the Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF)?
Ans:- SSVF has come into effect on 1 July 2016. It applies only to student visa applications submitted from 1 July 2016 and will not affect the visas of existing student visa holders.
Under the SSVF all international students will apply for the same student visa (subclass 500) regardless of their program of study, and will be required to apply for their student visa online. The student’s chosen education provider and their country of citizenship will help determine how much evidence of English language and financial capacity they will need to provide with their student visa application.
SSVF replaces the previous eight student visa subclasses, the Assessment Level (AL) framework, and Streamlined Visa Processing (SVP) arrangements.
Q2. What are the post-study visa work rights? (Pswr)
Ans:- Student may be eligible to apply for post study work rights under  temporary Graduate visa (sub-485)

  • The student completes an eligible qualification from an Australian university; and
  • The student meets the two (2) year Australian study requirement.

The duration of the Post-Study Work Rights visa under the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485)  will depend on the level of qualification achieved. A visa in this stream can be granted from two to four years, depending on the qualification.
Q3. What is two year Australian study requirement?
Ans:-  To be eligible to apply for post work visas, including both streams of the temporary Graduate visa (Subclass 485) student will required to meet the two years of Australian study requirement. To meet this requirement, student must have completed one of the two years programs that is registered on CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institute and course overseas students) and this program result

  • resulted in the award of a Bachelor, Masters or Doctoral Degree; and
  • was conducted in English; and
  • was at least two full-time academic years (minimum 92 CRICOS weeks) in duration; and
  • was lawfully completed in no less than 16 months; and
  • was completed at an Australian educational institution in Australia

The Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) allows graduates to work in Australia temporarily after they finish their studies. It has two streams: the Graduate Work stream and the Post-Study Work stream.
The Graduate Work stream is for international students who graduate with skills and qualifications that relate to an occupation considered in demand in the Australian labour market, as indicated in the list of eligible skilled occupations. A visa in this stream is generally granted for 18 months.
The Post-Study Work stream offers extended options for working in Australia to eligible graduates of a higher education degree. Under this stream, successful applicants are granted a visa with a visa period of two, three or four years’ duration, depending on the highest educational qualification they have obtained.

Ans:- No, Only Australian registered private health insurers can offer OSHC. This is because the Australian Government wants to be able to monitor and regulate insurers covering people living temporarily in Australia. The Government is not able to protect the interests of people insured by overseas insurance companies in the same way.
Q10. What is the duration of OSHC?
Ans:- Duration of OSHC is depend upon total duration of the program.
For example:- If your Master program duration is 2 year (24 months), you probably have to take around 26 to 28 months OSHC.
