Fraser International College (FIC) is located in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, and began its operations in September 2006. FIC operates as a private educational institution in partnership with Simon Fraser University (SFU). Initially, when the proposal for FIC, then called IBT, was under discussion at SFU, it generated significant controversy. FIC is managed by Navitas Limited, a publicly listed Australian educational company, formerly known as International Business and Technology Education Ltd.
Currently, FIC has an enrollment of more than 1,300 students from over 35 countries and regions.
FIC offers a one-year pre-university program known as UTP Stage II, which guarantees direct transfer to Simon Fraser University once students meet the GPA standards specified for different majors. The UTP Stage II programs are aligned with SFU’s first-year programs, and students are required to complete specific credits for transfer, with the required courses depending on their chosen majors. This pathway provides students with a smooth transition into Simon Fraser University.
