Date: 18 June 2016

Start-up company, 6Degree, set up by Leeds University Business School alumnus Nikhil Hegde (MBA 2014) has raised $200,000 (USD) capital funding from one of the largest investment groups in India – India Angel Network (IAN).

Set up by Nikhil with business partner Amit Bhardwaj, 6Degree is a technology platform for fashion professionals, students, bloggers and employers. It has recently secured large contracts in Dubai, India and the UK.

“We plan to use the funding to enhance our technology and expand our reach. Fashion as a genre cannot be underrated and it is important to integrate technology with fashion. Our aim is to unite various domains of fashion and create one holistic group of like-minded people.” says Nikhil.

“I’d like to thank the University of Leeds incubator, SPARK, and the alumni relations team for all the support during this journey and I’m looking forward to flourishing this business on a global scale”

Nikhil was recently featured in Forbes India, TechInAsia and the Economic Times.
